Obituary: Kimberly Rae Welch Kavoukas
10/13/64 ~ 6/19/03

At the tender age of 38, on June 19, 2003, our cherished and deeply loved mother, daughter and friend, was released from the trials and tribulations she had endured during her short mortal existence on this earth.

She was beckoned by her Father in Heaven to come home to him.

He wanted her to meet and share some precious time with her baby granddaughter, Alexis, and to help prepare her for her long awaited journey to earth.

Although we don't completely understand the reason for many things, We do believe there are reasons for all things.

Each of us, in our own way are so thankful for all the reasons Kimberly was and will always be a part of our lives.

Kimberly was born in Salt Lake City, UT on Oct 13, 1964 to Russell M. Druce and Kathern Hansen Druce.

She married Frank Welch in the fall of 1983 in Salt Lake City, UT.

They had a daughter, Rashelle Anne Welch.

They were later divorced. She married George J. Kavoukas on Sept 19, 1991 in Provo, UT.

They had a daughter, Brittany Louise Kavoukas. They were later separated.

She graduated from Granite High School in 1982. Kim loved to draw and paint, which she was very good at. Most of her life she worked in retail sales. Kim loved all the beauty and wonders that nature provided.

Kim loved and cherished her two loving daughters, Rashelle and Brittany; they were her whole world. When she found out she was going to be a grandma, we saw Kim in a new type of joy we had never seen before.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by her husband, George Kavoukas; her daughters, Rashelle Welch and Brittany Kavoukas, Salt Lake City, UT; her mother, Kathern Belliston, Orem, UT; her father and stepmother, Russell and Astrid Druce, Salt Lake City;

Rashell's fiancé, Levon Meguerditchian, and his son, Levon Jr.; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who knew and loved Kim and will miss her greatly. Kim throughout her entire life never knowingly hurt anyone.

Kimmy, rest and rejoice awhile in Grandma's loving arms. She is waiting for you.

But on the morrow it will be time to take your own granddaughter, baby Alexis, into your arms, she wants to meet and share some time with her grandma, Kim, before she makes her trip to earth.

A viewing will be Tues. June 24, 2003, 10:45 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, a graveside service will follow at 12 noon at the same location.
